Booked externally, but the welcome was great and the personal service was lovely too. Quick overnight business trip, very comfortable, all that I needed. Many thanks to the management.
Lovely comfortable bed, clean, service great, welcoming, friendly.
The hotel was a very nice place to stay and would recommend this place to anyone I know ! We had a lovely relaxing time and the food was fantastic. It's was good value for money too.
We had the room for one night as our daughter was taking the ferry to Holland. We don't often stay in hotels in uk and we were pleasantly surprised - especially as it was one of the few hotels with availability on that date. Friendly, attentive staff. Room comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice ambiance of restored Edwardian building. Food was quite satisfactory - we had dinner in the restaurant. We would stay there again if we were taking the ferry. At dinner there was a party of young women celebrating a 21st who did not shriek, drink too much and behaved with good manners - amazing!
Bathroom was very small. View from bedroom was a building site.
Comfortable room with bathroom with separate shower and whirlpool bath. Nice gardens with piped music and a sea view at the rear. Food menu was good and the service was also good.
Detail a little missing for instance 3 light bulbs out in the room and the bedside lamp didn't work - the things that are easily not seen when room cleaning during the daytime. Unhappy that Booked.net stated only 1 room available so rushed to grab the last room and in fact only 3 rooms out of 12 were being stayed in.
Warm welcome, helpful staff. There was an old pub-like atmosphere but quality and spacious, pleasant public areas. Very relaxing. We had room 5 on ground floor which had a wheelchair bathroom. Was surprised in morning to realize the bathroom window looked out onto the back lawn. Staff were very considerate and helped when I needed it, even at 5am, providing a convertor plug and fresh milk. Breakfast was generous and we had a good time. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall a pleasant stay.
Squeaky floorboards reminded me of our earlier travels in outback Aussie pubs but it wasn't really unpleasant. :-) it might just distturb some light sleepers.
Very dusty and window not possible to open. Breakfast extremely un healthy - sea of fat on the plate
The room was central to my place of work
I was not happy to be charged for three nights only staying two. Being told this was due to this sites charging scheme
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was a nice size and had digital tv. The breakfast was wonderful.
Nice friendly staff and a comfortable room. Breakfast was also good. Parking was also plentiful at the rear (entrance) side of the hotel
Stayed in one of the rear rooms and there was the constant drone of a refrigeration compressor or similar throughout the night. Did not bother me as a heavy sleeper but might disturb some. The answer would be to ask for a room at the front with 'sea view'
Conveniently located for vist to Ipswich record Office.
Very accommodating, helpful and friendly staff, the lovely dining room, bar and sitting room, garden, dining recommendations. Also liked the availability of dining room for take-out although we did not use it - and the 24 hour availability of staff in case of need.
Were exhibiting at the Suffolk County Show. The Hotel was within easy reach of Trinity Park Showground. Staff very Polite and helpfull in adhereing to our request of a room on the lowest floor as we are Senior citizens and find too many stairs difficult to climb.
Friendliness of Staff. Service provided for food bought off the premises.
The owners spent time chating to us...made us feel very welcomed thankyou
Very polite, friendly, and helpful hotel staff--they were able to accomodate an early check-in request, quickly answered all of our questions or requests, and even offered to lend us cash when the nearby ATM was out of order. Breakfast was also excellent.
